The Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Hammer Driver-Drill (model XPH012) is a Combination Driver-drill and Hammer driver-drill.

Makita’s 18V Lithium-Ion series is the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18V Lithium-Ion batteries and their batteries have the fastest charge time in their category.

The combination of longer run time due to the higher AH rating and shorter charge time, results in the best available on-site use ratio.

I’ve been using Makita drills for years now and they are robust and provide outstanding support.
This has great features and it so light!
Do you know if they sell the kit with the drill pieces?

Hi Vince, Thanks for your comment.
Yes, Makita surely is the best of the best.
The kit does not come with the drill pieces>
You need to order it separately.
Here is a link to a very good set
      Cheers 🙂

Interesting review and certainly seems to outclass the competition. I have never owned a Makita product but know them as high-quality tools. Good price too as I just bought another “store brand” drill the other day and it was about the same price $#@%!!
    Thanks for the review.

If you just look at their global support infrastructure, they are completely in a class of their own.

Makita is among the top drills and power tools companies in the market. Would love to know what applications you specifically use this 18v drill for, which applications you do recommend and which you do not … These tools come with limits and would be cool to know what they are. Other than that, seems like a reliable product overall.

      Thanks for your comment Elias.
This specific tool can be used both as driver drill and hammer drill.
I won’t recommend it for heavy industrial use, but as an all rounder tool for general household/commercial use, this is the perfect tool. you can use it in any application where you would normally use a 54 watt corded machine with a half inch chuck. Don’t let, being cordless and battery powered, make you think that this machine has limitations in use over a corded machine. L-ion batteries brought these tools to a whole new level of efficiency.
      Cheers 🙂
